Larry Calton is an
entrepreneur and senior executive with a broad base of experience in executive
management, governance, operations, finance, and business development. In
2002, Larry founded the North Texas Enterprise Center (NTEC) where he served as
President and Executive Director for over 10 years. NTEC is one of the
largest medtech- focused business incubators in the U.S. During his
tenure, the NTEC team advised over 60 emerging tech businesses, helped raise
over $40 million in company investment, hosted dozens of management education
seminar and regional conferences, and designed, built, and managed a 50,000sf
state-of-the-art technology incubator. Larry has worked extensively with
the City of Frisco and the City of Richardson on their incubators and
entrepreneur support programs and provided guidance to nearly a dozen other
cities and countries on new business creation programs. Prior to NTEC,
Larry was a Director for KPMG-Dallas where he established the emerging tech
company vertical and he spent 10 years as a manager and Vice President with
Comerica Bank – Texas.
Larry serves on the Board of the Metroplex Technology Business Council, the Program Committee for the Southwest Venture Forum, the Advisory Board for the Sci-Tech Development Center, is a founding member of the Texas Association of Research Parks and Incubators, a Co-Founder of Lone Star Angels, and recently served on the Entrepreneurs Foundation of North Texas Board of Directors.
